We're a very small label and even so we receive many inappropriate 'sign me up' requests from wannabe popstars, rap DJs and drum & bass outfits etc. There's nothing wrong with this type of music - it's just completely inappropriate for a label specialising in acoustic and folk music. Submission Guidelines
- You must sing or play folk and/or acoustic and/or roots music - by its broadest definitions
- You must be in a stable and sustainable performing unit (band, trio, duo or solo career)
- You must have performing experience at acoustic venues/folk clubs and festivals
- You must have a viable list of future UK gigs or a reason to think that you soon will have
- You must be eager to take your career to the next level
- You must be willing to put effort and resources into promoting yourself
- Being gobsmackingly talented doesn't hurt either
If you fit the above guidelines send a recording - preferably on CD but even a home video will do. The quality of the recording doesn't matter as much as the quality of the music. (If we decide to offer you a deal we'll take care of the quality of the recording.) Include a biog sheet - including your age - a complete list of performers and instrumentation (and make it clear if any of the performers are NOT regular bandmembers) - your upcoming UK gig list - a brief plan for your musical career. If you are not a UK artist please make it clear how many UK gigs you do each year. Note - you don't have to be a full time musician, but you do have to have the prospects of selling CDs to your audience.
Don't forget to include your contact details and appropriate links to your webpage and/or myspace page.
